Experience
I have a three years experience as home tutoring for students grade 3 to grade 9 in English, Maths and Science in London. I also have 7 year work experience as Learning mentor and support in primary school setting from pre-school to grade 6 in London. Moreover, I have experience of tutoring children grade 1 to grade 9, from two private schools, ( follow British and America curriculum system) here in Addis Ababa. My focus is not only the children to achieve academically but also to work on their attitude towards their education, behavior, confidence ,and to be an independent learner. I am confident that my strong desire to help students to accomplish their goals will go a long way in providing high quality services Comprehending the intensity of pressure that students undergo where education is concerned, I have vowed to make things somewhat simpler for them, by assisting them in problem areas, and ensuring that they understand complex concepts with ease. Recently, I have also started teaching a group of local adults; English for complete beginners and basic computer skill here in Addis. I teach the subjects by keeping it simple, always checking students understanding, by giving them time to practice and by using professional resources, visual aids, games and activities. In addition, being multi-lingual (Fluent in English, Amharic, Tigrigna and proficient in Dutch) and having thorough knowledge and exposure of Ethiopian as well as UK school system, culture and work ethics etc, I strongly believe I can very much related to Ethiopian as well as foreign students and understand their challenge and provide them guidance, boost their confidence and empowering them to achieve their goals.
